Restaurant Wannee

Due to the RIVM regulations regarding COVID-19, we are unfortunately closed at the moment. We hope to see in Wannee again as soon as possible. 

Restaurant Wannee is named after Ms. Cornelia Johanna Wannée. Ms. Wannée taught cooking and gastronomy at the “Amsterdamse Huishoudschool” at the Vondelpark in Amsterdam. They stood for the development of female education with the goal of economic independence for women. Ms. Wannée showed the value of healthy, tasteful cooking and became the portrait behind the Dutch food culture.

Restaurant Wannee’s philosophy is based on Dutch Cuisine: a manifesto of five principles created by SVH Masterchef and Wannee’s Executive Chef Albert Kooy.

  1. Culture - we show what beautiful ingredients and traditions we have in New Dutch Cuisine
  2. Health - we base our dishes on vegetables so they are good for people and the planet
  3. Nature - we use natural products and ingredients with no chemical additives
  4. Quality - we use the best quality with respect for the products and the producers
  5. Value - we respect the earth acting as its stewards and with a zero-waste mindset


Every month our chefs create a new menu under these principles; representing the season with the naturally grown vegetables as the focal point in every dish, with the meat or fish acting as garnish. The result: a seasonal Dutch Cuisine menu which we are proud to call our own! For a quick lunch or dinner we have a selected a la carte menu with favorites such as a salad or fried eggs.

Bar Wannee

In our renewed bar you can enjoy a nice cup of coffee, a Frisian beer or homemade bites. We have draft beers of Brewery Dockum, including some Kâld Kletske variants.

 Because of the COVID-19 measures, the bar is currently closed.

Our COVID-19 measures

Because of COVID-19 there are more extensive house rules applicable than you might be used to from us within Notiz Hotel and Restaurant Wannee, both part of NHL Stenden Hospitality Group.

NHL Stenden Hospitality Group is following the guidelines as communicated by the Dutch National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (‘RIVM’) and trade association for the hospitality industry ‘Koninklijke Horeca Nederland’.

  • Keep 1.5 meters distance from each other.
  • Stay at home in case of COVID-19 related complaints.
  • There is a disinfection column at the entrance of the hotel and restaurant. Please disinfect your hands upon arrival.
  • When using our restaurant Wannee (both dinner and breakfast), you will be asked to register via a QR code.
  • In case there are rooms where a maximum number of persons is allowed, this will be indicated with a sticker at the entrance of the room.
  • All areas are kept clean according to RIVM guidelines. Disinfection gel is available at several places in the building.
  • If necessary, a walking route is indicated.
